Zozocolco located 220 meters high, is a village established between three mountains, where the thin tower of its colonial church “San Miguel” outstands. Here is where the landscape matches with the buildings of crafted white rock; almost as if the main streets and the houses emerged from the middle of a frame of fruit trees such as chote, jonote, white espino, cedar, banana trees, pepper bushes and diverse herbs of medical and consumption use.

Each year, during the week that starts from August 15th (Asuncion day, Tuxpan Chief) the festivities take place where the traditional cattle fair is celebrated, as well as commercial, industrial and tourist activities are celebrated; one of the best and the one that possesses most tradition in the state and the country. During this fair you can enjoy from a great number of spectacles, rooster tournaments, rides and the exhibition of selected exemplary of regional and international cattle.

The origins of the Castillo de Teayo Pyramid go back to the 1100 and 1200 years old,
It was funded approximately between 600- 700 AD. The pyramid which is located in the valley at the center of the district, it consists by three slanted pieces, separated by a narrow step. The surface on top is a square of 23.70 mts and its face is heading east. There is a small museum with Totonacan and Huastecan cultural remains, with influences of the Aztecan and Toltecan cultures that can be observed here.

Temapache is a village of pre Hispanic origins that has the best churches of Huasteca Veracruzan. Established under the direction of Santiago Apostol as some others from the territory of Veracruz as well; a construction of stone from the XVI century that allows appreciating the plateresco style introduced by the Franciscans for a marvelous manifestation.

Coxquihui, the most important construction is the San Mateo church, which dates from the XVIII century; made of stone, on its major arch you see written the date when was concluded. With a large atrium surrounded by a wall that gives it a bulwark aspect. A town dedicated to the commercial industry that has endured ups and downs from the agriculture products of the zone itself.

Tuxpan is a place with 14 kms of beach long of golden sand, where the Mexican gulf offers a flat non deep beach making it one of the safest ones in the country. Venue of celebrations such as La Regata “Tajin Amigos”; where beautiful sailing boats leave to Galveston, Texas, towards the Veracruz port, as Tuxpan is the main stop over. Our river honors itself by the presence of a great number of boats that visit us between June and July.
